Piedmont Association of Physician Assistants: Fiscal Policies

- The accounting system used will be cash based accounting.
- The funds will be deposited into the PAPA checking account with Wells Fargo Bank.
- All payments and requests should be directed to the Treasurer or President.
- All checks shall be co-signed by the Treasurer and/or President. In the absence of those officers, 2 other board of director's members, assigned by them may serve as signatory.
- The fiscal year will begin on January 1 and end on December 31 of each year.
- The treasurer will give a quarterly report to the board of directors of all financial transactions.
- The 990N e-Postcard shall be filed with the IRS each year by the May 15th deadline, providing the treasury continues to maintain an income of less than $50,000 for that fiscal year. If the total is greater than $50,000 then a 990 EZ will be submitted by that same deadline.
- No item worth less than $2000 will be capitalized, but will be expensed currently
- Website job posting guidelines:
- Cost per ad: $100 for 3 months
- If the business employs a current PAPA member, they will be entitled to one free posting per year.
- Information for the job postings will be submitted to the Webmaster/Webmistress.
- If a check is returned for insufficient funds, the person who wrote the check will be contacted. A certified check or cash for the original amount with an additional $15.00 bank fee will be requested.

2011 Officers:

PAPA Membership:
Greater than 150 paid members (2/3 PAs, 1/3 NPs, PA students, and others).
Accomplishments:
- Maintained an updated website www.papanc.org.
- Maintained 501c6 and incorporation status.
- Successfully hosted the 14th Annual PAPA Fall Seminar offering 6 hours of free CME-I to about 100 attendees. Had 8 exhibitors.
- Donated $500 to the Katherine Anderson Society of the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Dept of PA Studies to help fund student attendance to the national AAPA conference.
- Participated in a Mentorship program with the WFU PA students and paired prospective PA students with PAs for shadowing opportunities.
